Welcome to Sweaty Eddie’s Lifetime Fitness! I am happy that you are here and excited about beginning a journey together that will last a long time. Before we start, an introduction is in order. I am Sweaty Eddie (not currently sweaty btw), but you can call me Edward if you prefer.
I have been on my own journey toward improved health and wellness for the past 10+ years. During that time I have learned a significant amount about myself, weight loss, health & fitness, and minimalism. It is my goal in this blog to share my journey (past, current, and future) as well as my thoughts and perspectives on the above-mentioned topics. I believe that EVERYONE deserves a mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy life, full of joy and lived with mindful intention. I truly hope that you find value in what I have to share.
Below is a bit of my story so you can get to know me and what I am about. As a minimalist, I will keep it brief and expand on much of this in future posts.
I am a native Southern Californian who now lives in the Portland, Oregon area with my wife, Lori (also not currently sweaty). We have three grown children and no pets (although we love to dog-sit which you will read about in a future post). I was a high school music educator for roughly twenty years (band, orchestra, guitar, jazz band, choir). After leaving teaching for a variety of reasons (part of which you can read about here) I began teaching indoor cycling and became an administrative assistant for Raven Marketing. In this same period, I joined the 234th Army Band and currently serve as a clarinet and saxophone player. I also lead our unit’s Health and Safety Team.
Over the last several years, I have become an ACE Certified Health Coach, Personal Trainer, and Fitness Nutrition Specialist. While pursuing these certifications, I discovered my passion for helping people become healthier and happier. I have worked extensively with family and friends, resulting in healthier lifestyles and happier, more intentional lives. I hope to have that opportunity with you as well. Sweaty Eddie’s Lifetime Fitness developed out of my desire to help you enhance your abilities to Take Care of YourSELF*.
If you are overworked, overcommitted, or overstressed and want to discover ways to live an intentional life with more health, fulfillment, fitness, and joy, let me know in the comments, and click here to find out more about health coaching and working with me.
Take care of yourSELF,
Edward
